Transphobia

Hi guys it's Sam here. Transgenders are one of the greatest warriors in LGBTQ community. By definition transgenders are those who are born with one of the socially recognized sexes but identify or would like to identify themselves with opposite sex.

#Why transgenders are considered as warriors?
Gender is a social construct and until one understands the gender concept, it becomes harder  to identify himself/herself as male or female. Our biological sex determines the gender role to be played by us. For example man is considered as a provider and women is supposed to take care of her family members. But what about those who don't fall into these stereotype categories?
For them this creates confusion. People with gender confusion are generally called as gender incongruence. Transgender people have a gender identity or gender expression that differs from their sex assigned at birth. A transgender fails to fit in the society because of lack of options available for them.

The confusion grows much more as the child grows with changes in his/her physiology along with psychology. This utter confusion may hit a child hard and he/she finds himself/herself emersed in depression and to some extent suicidal. When your body doesn't match with your mentality it often leads to oppression of your feelings and countless failure attempts to be someone which you're not. Teasing, abusing (both verbally or physically) right from a very tender age trying to prevent from expressing their view about gender seeds the hate. Parents, teachers or people who has nothing to do with us feelsoffended with behavior, lifestyle. You are nothing but a "Whore". Rejection, deprivation, ignorance honours your crown. Every decision that you take is a subject of discussion for everyone as if our life is at their mercy.
Bullying at school and public, calling by different names are some of awards we receive throughout our life time.

#How Transphobia is born?
A phobia is a psychological condition that makes one to react or behave in a certain way when encountered. Trans-phobia typically indicates a strong reaction (usually negative) against a person who expresses himself or herself as a Transgender.

#What is the Psychology behind trans-phobia?
Society always plays the major role in developing hatred, disgust or violence. Orthodox families don't accept the changes that people like transgender strive for. Parents teach their child to restrict themselves within the norms of the society. Apparently it's supposed to make one more "normal" and socially acceptable. The effect of such mentality can be corrosive. It prevents us to accept and embrace something that challenges their traditional beliefs.

#How do we change this?
Curiosity is something that all human possess inherently. The curiosity to know more about the unknown can encourage one educating one's own self resulting into the expansion of the horizon of mental circle by building an egalitarian society where people are not categorised based on their GENDER  and discrimination has no place.
